The Avengers 4 Reshoots Getting More Black Panther

This month sees the start of The Avengers 4 reshoots with it reported they will involve more from Black Panther, which makes sense seeing the flick made more money than Infinity War domestically.

According to a photographer in Atlanta, it appears The Avengers 4 reshoots will involve more of Black Panther and Wakanda.

“Based on the locations and the casting it looks like #Avengers4 will have a whole lot more #BlackPanther in it than #AvengersInfinityWar. So that’s less a reshoot and more an addition of goodness,” the Atlanta Filming Twitter account posted and then deleted.

Black Panther being more of a part of The Avengers 4 shouldn’t be a big surprise as the solo movie blew past everybody’s expectations, with a sequel quickly announced following the release.

The Russo brothers have also gone on record that they are also excited about seeing more from Danai Gurira’s fan-favorite Okoye.

“It’s unfortunate because half of them are gone now, but of the ones that are left?” Joe Russo said about which characters he is looking forward to in Avengers 4. “Danai did, I thought, amazing work in Infinity War. And I think that that character is very powerful and super compelling, and I think there’s a lot of places to go with that character.”

Joe Russo also commented on the heart-wrenching scene in Infinity War where Okoye had to watch Black Panther turn to dust, courtesy the Great Titan Thanos.

“Her goal in life, her mission in life is to protect the king, and watching him evaporate in front of her, there is nothing she can do about it,” Joe Russo said. “It was really taking that source of pride for her and that duty, and it challenges her in the most painful way possible.”

In addition to Avengers 4 featuring more Wakanda, Marvel Studios is also trying to get Black Panther nominated for Best Film Oscar as they are launching a huge publicity campaign.

“I think it would be wonderful,” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said about a potential Oscar. “The people behind the camera, the people on screen that acted in the movie, any of them being recognized would bring us great joy because they did tremendous work. And it’s always nice when tremendous work is recognized.”

Regarding Black Panther 2, it is rumored to be announced this month, and shortly after the first movie was released, Kevin Feige confirmed the sequel.

“We absolutely will do that,” Feige said about Black Panther 2. “One of the favorite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two. There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one.”

The Avengers 4 has a May 3, 2019 release.
