With Warner Bros. announcing that Armie Hammer is set to star along side Henry Cavill in the Man From U.N.C.L.E., some fans thought that was a set up for the actor to reprise as Batman for the Man of Steel sequel.
Armie Hammer was all set to play Batman in the 2008 defunct George Miller Justice League movie, but as the movie never came to be – so did Hammer's utility belt.
Now with Warner Bros. casting a new Batman for the Man of Steel sequel, any chance Armie Hammer will don the cape and cowl once again?
After all, Warner Bros. went back and picked up Henry Cavill, who previously tried out for the part of Superman.
Turns out the answer is no, as Armie Hammer makes it known that it would be too confusing seeing him and Cavill in one movie together and then another.
"I think if Henry and I did that film and then a superhero film straight after, people might start to wonder about us," Hammer said in an interview with the Metro.
Hammer also made a strange statement that he is isn't even a big fan of super hero films in general, which seems odd as the actor just starred in The Long Ranger and did seem excited about playing Batman.
"I’m not actually a big fan of superhero films,’ he said. ‘If you have a guy who is supposed to be invulnerable, then what’s the point?"
Superman/Batman, the sequel to Man of Steel, goes into production next year for a 2015 release starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
