Prime Video has released the official trailer for American Gladiators and also unveiled the full list of Season 1 Gladiator names ahead of the series premiere on April 17.
The reboot is hosted by Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and Rocsi Diaz, with Chris Rose serving as commentator.
The new trailer also features the official series theme song, “Rise Up,” an Amazon Music Original from Jelly Roll. Watch below.
Prime Video reveals American Gladiators trailer
The new trailer offers a better look at the rebooted competition series, including the updated Arena, returning events, and the new lineup of Gladiators.
Prime Video is mixing old and new with the format. Classic events such as Joust, Powerball, Hang Tough, and The Wall are all part of the reboot. The series also introduces new events including The Ring and Collision.
The setup remains familiar. Amateur male and female contenders from across the country enter the Arena to take on 16 Gladiators. At the end of the competition, one man and one woman will each win $100,000 and the title of American Gladiator Champion.
Jelly Roll provides the theme song
One of the bigger additions is the music.
The trailer features “Rise Up,” the official theme song for the series from Jelly Roll. Prime Video says the track is an Amazon Music Original tied to the launch of the reboot.
That gives the show another big promotional push as Prime Video leans on both nostalgia and a recognizable current name to help sell the return of American Gladiators.

The names fit the larger-than-life style fans expect from American Gladiators and should be a big part of how Prime Video markets each competitor going into the season.
American Gladiators release schedule
Prime Video will release the ten-episode first season across three Fridays.
The first three episodes arrive on April 17. Three more episodes follow on April 24. The final four episodes will then be released on May 1.
All ten episodes will stream exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Who is behind the reboot
American Gladiators is created and executive produced by Johnny C. Ferraro.
Daniel Calin serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Barry Poznick. Susan Janis-Mashayekhi, Sarah Happel Jackson, and Adam Cooper are co-executive producers. Ramy Romany directs the series.
The reboot is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
