Ahsoka Season 2 Now Filming: Rosario Dawson Teases First Look

Filming on Ahsoka Season 2 is officially underway, as Rosario Dawson teases a first look at her character, with the start of production.

“& we’re off…to galaxies far, far away….!” Dawson posted on social media, which includes a tease of Ahsoka with the show’s theme music also shared on IG Story.

Ahsoka Season 2 details: Hayden Christensen, Baylan Skol, Admiral Ackbar

Recent details for Ahsoka Season 2 were revealed at Star Wars Celebration Japan, which include that Hayden Christensen will be back as Anakin Skywalker. The event also offered a first look at actor Rory McCann who replaces the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skol. That’s not all as Admiral Ackbar will be appearing, set to take on Thrawn.

“I think my understanding of the character is just continuing to grow,” Christensen said in a recent interview. “We’re getting to explore different sides of Anakin, which I’m really enjoying. I’m just enjoying the journey.”

Christensen continued, “He’s a very complex character, and there’s a lot going on. But I’m really loving getting to sort of play the more heroic side of the character in the Ahsoka show, and I’m very excited for Season 2.”

Admiral Ackbar vs Thrawn

Regarding Admiral Ackbar, Dave Filoni teases he won’t be trapped this time: “He’s going head-to-head with Thrawn. It took all of my effort to resist writing the line — ‘It’s a trap!’ Because I’m like, I can’t do that, that would be so lame. Because this guy can’t always get into traps. You’d think he would see it this time.”

Rory McCann as Baylan Skol

Rory McCann, known for Game of Thrones, replaces Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skrol, who recently passed away in 2023.

“Season 2 was predictably a big challenge because of losing Ray,” said Filoni. “I knew Ray from working on voice acting with him. It was a challenge for me to consider continuing for a while. But I have a wonderful support group in Jon (Favreau) and Rosario (Dawson)”.

Filoni continued he made the decision to continue use of the character with Ray’s family, “I found a way in — I had Ray in my head. I’m grateful for all my conversations with him about Baylan. So, I understood what to do, it just took a while to get there. I’m very confident now that Ray would be happy with the direction that we’ve chosen.”

Filoni added, “The character is meant to be the parallel to Ahsoka in every way. If there’s a light, there’s a dark, and Baylan is representing a different journey for a Jedi as you (Rosario) represent one who walked away from the (Jedi) order, so did he. That’s a parallel that must continue.”

Lucasfilm hasn’t yet announced when Ahsoka Season 2 will drop on Disney+. Season 1 is available.
