Sony has again announced new release dates for its Spider-Man universe spinoff Marvel films which includes Kraven the Hunter, Madame Web, and possibly Venom 3.
Kraven was originally slated to get released on January 13, 2023, but now will be released on Oct. 6, 2023.
Madame Web originally had a July 7, 2023 release then was shifted in July to Oct. 6, 2023, but now has a Feb. 16, 2024 release.
The untitled Marvel movie also originally had a June 7, 2024 release date but that now looks to be released on July 12, 2024.
The Spidey Multiverse animated films still have their release dates: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming June 2, 2023, and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse on March 29, 2024.
Kraven arrives Oct 6. 2023
Kraven is directed by J.C. Chandor and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the titular role.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson recently spoke out the flick:
Taylor Johnson also spoke about his experience shooting “Kraven the Hunter,” who he described as “one of Marvel’s most iconic, notorious anti-heroes — Spider Man’s number one rival.” He said he found exciting the fact that this character is “not an alien, or a wizard. He’s just a hunter, a human with conviction. An animal lover and a protector of the natural world. He’s a very, very cool character.” He added that unlike other Marvel movies, “this one is shot entirely on location.”
Madame Web arrives Feb. 16, 2024
Madame Web is directed by S.J. Clarkson and stars Dakota Johnson as the titular character.
The additional cast includes Emma Roberts playing Mary Parker; Sydney Sweeney playing Julia Carpenter who in the comics is known for being Spider-Woman, Arachne, and a version of Madame Web; Isabela Merced is playing Anya Corazon who in the comics goes by The Amazing Spider-Girl or Spider-Lady; Celeste O’Connor is playing Mattie Franklin who in the comics could be related to Martha Franklin aka Spider-Woman, and Adam Scott is playing Ben Parker, who appears to be Uncle Ben.
A recent rumor offers the film will be similar in story to Terminator.
Untitled Marvel movie arrives July 12, 2024
Venom 3 is currently in development where Tom Hardy has been teasing the movie on social media with some fans thinking Hardy has been referencing Spider-Man.
The July 12, 2024 release date is probably not for Spider-Man 4 as the film hasn’t been announced, has no director, no cast, and it isn’t even known if Tom Holland will be back for a fourth movie set in the MCU.
The Morbius director has confirmed a version of Spider-Man exists within the Sony Spidey spinoff universe, so maybe a new Spider-Man or even Tom Holland through the Multiverse will appear in Venom 3.
