Disney and Lucasfilm have confirmed that next month’s Star Wars Celebration will feature Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, The Mandalorian, and more.
“Star Wars Celebration returns in May, launching with a must-see showcase that will kick the weekend’s festivities into hyperdrive,” announced StarWars.com. “On Thursday, May 26, Lucasfilm’s current crop of live-action filmmakers will be joined by special guests to discuss the many Star Wars adventures coming soon, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, and The Mandalorian.”
Obi-Wan Kenobi coming to Star Wars Celebration
Obi-Wan Kenobi actually debuts the Friday leading into Star Wars Celebration on May 27th with the first two episodes, so maybe a new trailer and footage for the remaining episodes will be released.
Details: The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, in which Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) faced his greatest defeat — the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side and became the evil Sith Lord, Darth Vader.
The series also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor, and Joby Harold.
Andor coming to Star Wars Celebration
Andor is a spinoff from Rogue One and follows Diego Luna as Cassian Andor, and as the series is finished with filming, maybe the first footage will be dropping in the form of a trailer.
Details: Also starring in Andor includes Genevieve O’Reilly, who will reprise her role as Mon Mothma (Rogue One, Tin Can), as well as newly-announced co-stars Stellan Skarsgard (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Good Will Hunting), Denise Gough (Collett, Angels in America) and Kyle Soller (Anna Karenina, The Titan).
Tony Gilroy, who co-wrote Rogue One, will write, direct and serve as showrunner for the series, which takes place five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Additional writers on the series include Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler), Beau Willimon (House of Cards), and Stephen Schiff (The Americans).
The Mandalorian coming to Star Wars Celebration
The Mandalorian has Season 3 coming out, thought to be in December, and it’s been speculated those two episodes of Boba Fett featuring Luke and Baby Yoda are actually episodes from The Mandalorian Season 3, so it’s possible footage could be dropping as well.
The series stars Pedro Pascal.

Confirmed guests for Star Wars Celebration 2022 include Giancarlo Esposito, Anthony Daniels, Tim Rose, Daniel Logan, Joonas Suotamo, Ian McDiarmid, and more.
