Kevin Smith reveals an alternate ending to the Joker movie where the Clown Prince Of Crime kills the would-be Batman, a young Bruce Wayne.

Smith reveals an insider told about what the end of Joker was supposed to be during his latest Fatman Beyond podcast:

“So there is that last f’n scene… Somebody, I can’t say who told me, somebody f’n told me – because I don’t know if this is out there on there internet – did you hear what the ending was supposed to be? I hope this is f’n true, man, because I was like what the f’!” Smith recalled. “This is what I was told by somebody who works in the business and they’re in the know, and he’s super-smart and a great storyteller and sh-t. And I don’t know where he got it, but it’s reliable information, but I don’t know if he was supposed to share it. I don’t know if I am supposed to share it, but f’ it. It’s too good to f’n not share. So I don’t want to give the person up. And maybe f’n this is completely wrong, but I f’n hope it’s true…”

Smith continued: “Originally the movie is supposed to end with [Joker] in that room because I was talking to this person about like, ‘I didn’t think you needed him in the hospital.’ I thought him on the cars felt like the end of the movie. It was insanely triumphant and stuff. So originally the ending in the hospital was different… I don’t know if this is true or not… Who knows if it was just in script, but here goes.”

“So he’s in the hospital and he laughs, chuckles, and the lady goes, ‘What’s so funny?’ And [Joker] says, ‘I was just thinking of something funny,'” explains Smith. “What was supposed to happen was you flashed back to the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne, and it was [Joker] killing Thomas and Martha Wayne, and the boy was screaming and crying.

“And he [the Joker] turned to walk away, then he turned back, shrugged, and shot the kid. CREDITS,” said Smith.

Kevin Smith then offered his own reaction to the alternate ending: “What the f’ man! Could you imagine! That’s literally the biggest FU to the audience. It’s like, this world has no Batman, it’s just all f’n Jokers! I was like that’s network f’n deep, man. That’s f’n so intense. I would have been outraged as a Batman fan and elated as a fan of film.
