While Zack Snyder didn’t get a chance to use the character in Justice League, director Ava DuVernay confirms Darkseid will be appearing in her New Gods movie.
A fan questioned DuVernay asking what about Darkseid, with DuVernay confirming the character will be in the flick.

Darkseid debuts in the DCEU with New Gods movie
Regarding Zack Snyder, his version of Justice League did feature Darkseid, but the Whedon version only featured Steppenwolf.
Snyder has actually been releasing details through the Vero app including that Wonder Woman was going to chop the head off of Steppenwolf, with it assumed that as Steppenwolf enters the Boom Tube to get back to Apokolips, the head would then roll to the feet of Darkseid.

Since Ava DuVernay is doing the New Gods movie, it could be possible that she may be showing the origin of Darkseid, who went by the name of Uxas, and that Darkseid will be featured in additional DC movies.
It will be interesting to see how audiences react to Darkseid when the MCU did Thanos first. Jim Starlin was actually “inspired” by Darkseid to create Thanos.
