What may have been more anticipated than the movie itself was the Captain Marvel post-credit scene that leads into The Avengers: Endgame.
The scene featured our first look at Brie Larson responding to Nick Fury’s pager from the post-credit scene in Infinity War, with Carol Danvers meeting the Avengers for the first time.
As suspected, it turns out that the Captain Marvel post-credit scene was directed by The Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo, but it has not been confirmed if the scene does take place within The Avengers: Endgame.
“It’s really a direct lead-in to their movie,” Captain Marvel co-director Anna Boden confirms to Empire. “They came up with the concept for it, and we said, ‘That sounds awesome.’”
I wasn’t overly impressed with either of the Captain Marvel post-credit scenes, but I suppose at least the one that ties to The Avengers: Endgame didn’t show off too much footage or spoil much, and at the same time, it left a lot of questions open, like can Carol now teleport?
Disney also released a much cooler scene from The Avengers: Endgame featuring Brie Larson and Captain Marvel at a recent investor meeting. Check out the description here.
The Avengers: Endgame opens April 26.
