Two more characters in The CW’s The Lost Boys series have been cast with Rio Mangini (Everything Sucks, Teen Wolf) playing Sam and Del Zamora (Mayans MC) playing the grandfather and Lucy’s father, Frank. Corey Haim and Barnard Hughes played the characters, respectively, in the 1987 film.
The characters in the series are described as:
Sam, Michael’s younger brother, whose high level of literacy is matched by an equally high level of snark. He seems to be the only one not enchanted by Santa Carla — a sentiment he shares with a pair of local girls, the Frog Sisters.
Frank Garcia, Lucy’s father, a cantankerous old hippie who owns a beloved local bed and breakfast. In spite of his laid-back appearance, he’s a strict disciplinarian who probably knows more about the dark side of town than he cares to tell.
As previously announced, the Frog Sisters replace the Frog Brothers, played by Cheyenne Haynes (Camping) and Haley Tju (Bella and the Bulldogs). Sarah Hay (Flesh and Bone) will also play Mollie, a character that David turned into a vampire. Former Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey will play the role of Michael; Kiele Sanchez (Kingdom) is playing the mother, Lucy; Medalion Rahimi (My Dead Ex) is playing Stella (a version of Star), and Dakota Shapiro (Valley of the Boom) is playing David. Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the first Twilight movie is directing the pilot episode.
