Disney unveils and offers a sneak peek at their new upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster that is headed to Future World at Epcot when it opens in 2021.
Disney experiences and consumer products chairman Bob Chapek offers a sneak peek and behind-the-scenes look in the video below.
“We call it a ‘storytelling coaster.’ On most coasters, the vehicles point straight ahead throughout the ride,” Chapek explained. “But on this attraction, each individual cab will be programmed to direct your eye to the story happening around you. That means instead of whizzing by the action, you’ll be fully immersed in the story from the minute you launch.”
Chapek said building an adventure this big will require a ride system and ride vehicles unlike anything their guests have experienced before. What guests will encounter can best be described as a one-of-a-kind storytelling coaster that connects the adventure of a storyline with the thrills of a coaster (via Marvel.com).
