Black Panther Gets Rotten Review #3

Black Panther Gets Rotten Review #3

Black Panther opens this Thursday and while the movie isn’t officially out as of yet, it’s kicking all kinds of butt!

Black Panther now has a whopping $170 million estimated opening, and its ticket sales have been through the roof.

Black Panther also has a huge Rotten Tomatoes score–presently at 97%!

A third “rotten” negative review has now been posted online for Black Panther from Australia’s The Daily Telegraph.

“In an effort to be all things to all people, Marvel’s Black Panther has lost its roar in a dull and longwinded story that packs few surprises,” the review states.

Similar to the previous negative reviews, this review seems to indicate that Black Panther has a hard time finding its place by offering: “the problem appears to be a classic case of trying to be all things to all people — and pleasing none.”

This review also mentions Wonder Woman (which the previous negative review compared it to): “After Wonder Woman’s critical and commercial success, the time is certainly ripe for an action fantasy about a black superhero helmed by an African American…”

I’ll see the movie this week and post my own opinion. With such a high number of positive reviews, it can’t be that bad, right?

Black Panther currently has 108 reviews with 105 Fresh to 3 Rotten.
