We get an early Christmas present tonight on Twitter from James Gunn.
Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn responded to a fan’s request on Twitter requesting Nova for Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
Gunn replied: “You can request anyone you want!! I really do listen to you guys and who you want. But, in the end, I only have room for so many new characters AND they have to fit the story I’m telling about the primary Guardians.”
@JamesGunn can I request Nova for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?

Many fans responded with requests of their own ranging from Silver Surfer to Galactus to more requests for Richard Rider Nova.
I happened to hop on Twitter with a Richard Rider request of my own: “Yes Nova in #MCU! Now that Disney is buying Fox, make an Annihilation movie! And don’t make it goofy!!”

Gunn seemed to get a bit bothered by the comment (probably the “goofy” remark) and took to Twitter to personally respond about an article I posted a year-and-a-half ago which saw Michael Rooker seemingly release James Gunn’s phone number at a convention.
“@mattmcgloin, ever since you gave out my phone number on your web site (because people heard it on Rooker’s phone when he was on stage), and asked people to call and harass me, anything you ask for is much less likely to happen. Like, truly,” Gunn said.

To be fair, I never asked people to “harass” James Gunn. I said to call up and request Richard Rider Nova in the MCU. I also didn’t know if it was James Gunn’s real phone number in the first place as Michael Rooker said the phone number while at a convention, and I left out the area code.
This actually isn’t my first “run in” with James Gunn about Nova (he’s sensitive about Nova for some reason), as Gunn personally called me out on a Facebook Live video the Summer of 2016 when I asked for Nova.
“I know you want Nova, Matt McGloin,” James Gunn said. “You go on here every time and say that you want Nova. You know, there are a lot of other characters out there… and I know you do. It’s become quite apparent that you are very excited about Nova and that’s what you want, but that’s not happening right at this moment.”
I hope Gunn isn’t taking this too seriously and is really not going to use Nova because of anything I did.
I do hope James Gunn reconsiders his position on Nova in the MCU and doesn’t make other Nova fans suffer because he personally blames me for something.
I do apologize if anything I did caused any real problems.
