Ahead of tonight’s all new episode of Supergirl, it’s learned The CW has cast the role of Brainiac 5.
It’s reported Jesse Rath, known for Defiance, will play Legion’s Brainiac 5 in the recurring role of Brainiac 5 (via TV Line).
In Supergirl, Brainiac 5 is described as: Half computer, half organic life and boasting a 12-level intellect, Brainiac 5 is a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes who travels to National City from the 31st Century to help Supergirl and the DEO battle Reign, the villain that L-Corp CEO Samantha Arias (played by Odette Annable) is on track to becoming.
Jesse Rath debuts this Season on Supergirl in episode 10, aptly titled “Legion of Super-Heroes.”
“Episode 10 is called ‘Legion of Super-Heroes,’ and you can’t call it that without having the Legion of Super-Heroes in it,” Andrew Kreisberg said. “We’ve hinted at the Legion going back to Season 1, when we saw the Legion ring in the Fortress of Solitude, so the Legion will have a presence. Supergirl is about to face her greatest nemesis in the three years that we’ve been doing the show — we feel that Reign is the best villain we’ve ever had — so it’s going to take all the allies that she can muster to take Reign down. The Legion will be playing a big part in that.”
Tonight’s episode of Supergirl is titled “Damage.” Watch a preview clip below.
Episode synopsis:
“When multiple children get sick from lead poisoning, Morgan Edge (guest star Adrian Pasdar) points the finger at Lena (Katie McGrath) and blames her creation of the lead bomb she made to save National City from the Daxamites. While Lena knows she never intended any harm, she fears there may have been a flaw in her design, leaving her responsible. Kara (Melissa Benoist) teams up with Samantha (Odette Annable) to clear Lena’s name, but it turns out to be harder than they thought. Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) make a crucial decision about the future of their relationship.”
Supergirl airs Mondays at 8pm EST on The CW starring Melissa Benoist.
