Marvel’s Inhumans Ratings Dropping Fast

Marvel's Inhumans Ratings

Probably not a big surprise, but the ratings for Marvel’s Inhumans are dropping.

This past Friday’s episode saw a drop of 14%, with 2.3 million people tuning in.

The previous Friday saw 2.78 million viewers, and the 2-hour two-episode premiere drew in 3.75 million viewers.

Big things were expected from Marvel’s Inhumans as it paired Marvel TV with IMAX; however, obvious budget and writing issues are really hurting the series.

It’s no secret they are limiting the powers of the Inhumans in order save on cost: Medusa’s hair was cut off in terrible fashion, Black Bolt has only used his powers once, Karnak somehow fell off a cliff and his powers are wanky, and the other Inhumans’ powers only require small amounts of digital effects. The only good thing has been with Lockjaw, the teleporting canine, but he too, has been taken out, as twice has Lockjaw been ko’d.

I’m guessing the most expensive part of producing the series was filming on location in Hawaii, and I’m also guessing some exec wanted to vacation in Hawaii so he/she recommended the series be set there.

Reportedly, IMAX approached Marvel TV about Inhumans and is footing the bill. I hope IMAX thinks twice about doing business with Marvel TV ever again because Marvel TV didn’t come through with a quality script. If Marvel TV knew IMAX’s budget wasn’t enough to put out a good version of Inhumans, they either should have told IMAX that or coughed up enough to bring the show to where it needs to be. It’s probably one of the worse produced series I’ve ever seen. Shows on The CW and Amazon (not to knock them) have higher budgets and look a lot better.

Interestingly enough, Fox’s new X-Men series, The Gifted, is light years better than Inhumans in terms of both special effects and story. Interestingly enough #2 is that Marvel TV is involved with Fox and The Gifted. It’s been known Marvel has been attempting to replace the X-Men with Inhumans in the comics, games and merchandise; however, things between Marvel and Fox seem to be on the upside–did that affect the Inhumans TV series?

Honestly, while watching Inhumans, I couldn’t help but question if anybody at Marvel TV even cared about it, because it’s just that bad. Marvel’s Inhumans is downright embarrassing.

Fans have been questioning why Marvel Studios doesn’t crossover with Marvel TV; is there any question now?
