Drum roll, please!
Last night saw ABC debut the first two episodes for Marvel’s Inhumans, and while the series generally received negative reviews, I think there may be hope it could end up all right! You can read my full review here.
That said, no matter if Marvel’s Inhumans is the worst show on Earth or the best show on Earth–it all depends on the ratings if we’ll see more.
The good news – assuming you are a fan – is that the Marvel’s Inhumans ratings weren’t all that bad.
3.78 million viewers tuned in for Marvel’s Inhumans, with the episodes getting a 0.9 rating in the highly coveted ages 18-49 demographic.
That’s really not that bad, especially considering Marvel’s Inhumans also aired on a Friday night.
The number is also almost double of Agents of SHIELD‘s Tuesday night ratings of around 2 million.
Marvel’s Inhumans only has a few more episodes to go (total of eight), so it will be interesting to see if the viewership bails or stays along for the short ride.
Regarding Marvel’s Inhumans having a Season 2 or even a Season 3, it’s all up in the air right now, though showrunner Scott Buck did confirm plans for further seasons if ABC decides to give it another go.
“We have ideas. We know our starting point for Season 2, but we don’t know if there will be a Season 2. Hopefully, there will be a Season 2. If so, we know where we’re gonna start, and we’ll very gratefully gear up and get to work,” Buck recently told Collider. “We generally know where the first three seasons could go. What’s fun about the show is that it will basically always be a show about family, so there’s always going to be places to take these characters.”
