It’s learned Wonder Woman is currently kicking all kinds of butt at the box office over in Asia.
Deadline reports Wonder Woman debuts with $6.3 million in six overseas markets in Asia.
Some numbers include grossing:
• $1.3M in Taiwan and topping the debut of Batman v. Superman; also out performing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales by more than double.
• $601K in Hong Kong ($829K two-day); WB’s fourth biggest ever and beat out the likes of Deadpool, Suicide Squad, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Man Of Steel, Logan, Thor, First Avenger and GOTG 1 & 2.
• $1.2M in Korea; topped Doctor Strange, Thor, First Avenger and the GOTG pics.
• $803K in Indonesia; topped all the movies listed above except Batman vs. Superman.
Wonder Woman opens Friday officially in the U.S. with more foreign markets as the weekend progresses.
