“The Greatest Halloween Costume Contest Ever” Launches at New York Comic Con 2016 With Special Prizes For Attendees

Fans can enter the main contest to win a $500 shopping spree to their local comic store and New York Comic Con attendees cosplaying have a special opportunity to win a $200 shopping spree to their local comic store.

 

(BALTIMORE, MD) — (September 28, 2016) — Halloween ComicFest’s annual costume contest launches at New York Comic Con this year with a special prize only for show attendees.

New York Comic Con 2016 attendees cosplaying can stop by the PREVIEWSworld booth (#1836) and pick up a copy of a free Halloween ComicFest 2016 mini-comic. All that’s needed to enter and win is post a selfie with the mini-comic on Twitter using the hashtag #HCF16 and tagging @HalloweenComic.

Each entry will automatically be registered to win a $200 shopping spree at their local comic shop. The attendee does not have to be local to New York to redeem the $200 voucher. Additionally, fans who participate in the New York Comic Con giveaway can enter the main contest with the exact same photo.

To enter the main costume contest, participants take a picture in costume with one of the 32 free Halloween ComicFest 2016 full-size or mini-comics and then upload their costume photos to HalloweenComicFest.com in one of the five costume categories—Superhero/Comics, TV/Movie, Gamer, Horror, and Original. Fans can get these free comics at their local store on Saturday, October 29th.

The contest runs from Thursday October 6th through November 7th and fans will be eligible to win great prizes, including a Grand Prize of a $500 shopping spree at their local comic shop. The contest runs through Halloween, so fans can go to stores on Saturday, October 29th to participate in the event and then wait to enter on Halloween night when they’re in costume.

How to Enter:

1. Contestants much get one of the 32 official Halloween ComicFest 2016 full-size or minicomics available in participating stores Saturday, October 29th.

2. Contestants must take a picture holding one of the Halloween ComicFest 2016 comics while in costume.

3. The photo must then be uploaded to the Halloween ComicFest website at (www.halloweencomicfest.com/costumecontest) and submitted into the appropriate costume category where it will be screened by the HCF staff to ensure the photo is appropriate and has a HCF 2016 comic included in the picture.

4. Photos can be submitted anytime until 11:59 PM EST on November 7th.

From Tuesday, November 1st through Monday, November 7th at 11:59 PM EST, fans will be able to vote on their favorite entries featured on the HCF website, ultimately deciding a category winner. Two Grand Prize winners will be picked at random to receive at $500 shopping spree to their local comic shop and one adult and one child from each category will receive a $100 shopping spree.

The adult and child who earn the most votes in their respective categories will receive a prize pack containing various items from contest sponsors, which include: Action Lab, Archie Comics, Aspen Comics, BOOM! Studios, Cosplay by McCall’s, DK Publishing, Diamond Select Toys, Elephant Gun, Funko, GoldieBlox, IMAX, Joe Benitez Productions, Kotobukia, Magnetic Press, Oni Press, Paizo, Papercutz, Quirk Books, Scholastic, and TokyoPop. This year, $10,000 worth of prizes from our sponsors and comic shop gift certificates will be awarded to category and randomly selected winners.
