Jim Starlin Says Suicide Squad Is Garbage

Some people loved Suicide Squad, some people thought it was just okay, and then some people just loathed it.

Speaking of the latter, the critics utterly destroyed Suicide Squad as it sits at 26% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is even lower than Batman Vs. Superman.

Now we can add Marvel Comics Thanos creator Jim Starlin to the list. Starlin took to his Facebook page to offer that Suicide Squad is a “predictable piece of garbage.”

“Got reluctantly hauled of by a friend to go see Suicide Squad last night,” Starlin posted. “What a mistake! What a badly written, dull and predictable piece of garbage. Can’t believe some of the overly kind reviews this movie’s gotten. Feel sorry for the good actors stuck in it. Want my $8.50 and those two hours of my life back.”

Jim Starlin is no stranger to DC Comics as well, having worked on Batman and Legion of Super-Heroes.

Zack Snyder even used a Jim Starlin DC-created character in Batman Vs. Superman with KGBeast. WB also invited Starlin to the premiere of BVS, but when Starlin and his wife showed up, they got turned away because their names weren’t on the guest list.

“Suicide Squad” has an August 5, 2016 release date directed by David Ayer starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Scott Eastwood in an unknown role.

Synopsis:

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Supervillains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
