Back about a year ago, Jennifer Lawrence confirmed X-Men: Apocalypse would be her last X-Men movie.
“It is my last one, actually” Lawrence confirmed to MTV. “Yes.”
Now it seems Jennifer Lawrence has changed her tune as she tells Empire Magazine she wants to return for more X-Men.
“I am dying to come back,” she said while on the set of X-Men: Apocalypse. “I love these movies, I love being in them. I love ensemble movies because it’s not on anyone’s shoulders.”
In addition to Jennifer Lawrence, it’s said Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult are said to be finishing up with the X-Men as well.
With newcomers such as Tye Sherida, Sophie Turner and Alexandra Shipp coming on board, it’s possible Fox may do some sort of soft reboot following X-Men: Apocalypse, which Singer has said marks the end of a natural prequel trilogy.
Fox has yet to announce a new X-Men movie, other than the proejcts currenty in development, which include Deadpool 2, Gambit (recently delayed) and Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverine movie (though some seem to think he teased Wolverine 4).
There is even the crazy(?) rumor that the X-Men might meet up with Marvel’s Avengers.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” has a May 27, 2016 release directed by Bryan Singer starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Alexandra Shipp, Josh Helman, Lana Condor & Ben Hardy.
Synopsis:
Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
