Grant Gustin Flash Not A Fit For Justice League Universe Says Zack Snyder

I’ve said it once, and it’s worth saying again: If ever DC was looking for their Spider-Man, they’ve found it in the Grant Gustin Flash.

I also think it’s a colossal mistake by WB not to use Grant Gustin (and Stephen Amell’s Green Arrow) in the DC Cinematic Universe.

Obviously, Zack Snyder disagrees as he cast Ezra Miller in the role of Barry Allen for the DCCU, which hasn’t been well received by fans.

Now we hear exactly why Zack Snyder chose to go a different route, and it’s because he feels the Grant Gustin Flash is too different in tone than the Justice League movie universe.

“I just don’t think it was a good fit,” Snyder told the New York Daily News of bringing Grant Gustin’s Flash into the Justice League universe. “I’m very strict with this universe, and I just don’t see a version where…that (tone is) not our world.”

Snyder continues in what seems an attempt – or an excuse- to calm the masses (sorry, Zack; not working) by stating Grant Gustin’s Flash is part of the overall DC multiverse.

“Even if Grant Gustin is my favorite guy in the world and he’s very good, we made a commitment to the multi-verse (idea), so it’s just not a thing that’s possible.”

From Snyder’s comments, I guess we are supposed to take from that, that the Grant Gustin Flash is too light and too happy. Now we know we can expect a dark and depressing Ezra Miller, right?

Ezra Miller, you have some mighty fast boots to fill. Good luck.
