Though Paramount recently yanked World War Z 2 from its release schedule, it’s learned the movie is still moving foward.
Variety reports David Fincher, known for Gone Girl, Fight Club, The Social Network and Se7en, will direct World War Z 2.
Fincher reteams with Brad Pitt who will be back for World War Z 2 and is said to have courted Fincher for the gig.
It’s noted Paramount is expected to give World War Z 2 the official green light, which probably also means a new release date.
David Fincher and Brad Pitt previously worked on three films including Fight Club, Se7ven, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
World War Z debuted back in 2013 and was a big sleeper success. The zombie movie grossed over $540 million worldwide.
