Jurassic World 2 now has an official title with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set to open in exactly one year from today on June 22, 2018.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is being directed by J.A. Bayona with a script from Derek Connolly, Michael Crichton and Colin Trevorrow and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, Toby Jones, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith and Rafe Spall.
Plot details are unknown, but Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is being described as a “spanish horror film with dinosaurs” as Trevorrow offered on a recent podcast:
Bayona is a completely different kind of filmmaker and thinker than I am, yet we do have a lot of things in common. I was able to craft something specifically for another filmmaker that I admire. I built a Spanish horror thriller with dinosaurs in it that I probably wouldn’t have built for myself.
I think that it’s gonna be a better movie. I just do. It’s just deeper, it’s more character-based, it definitely leans into suspense especially in the second half.”
