The Avengers (2012): $100 Million Marketing Blitz Kicks Off April 1st

newsavengers301Have you had your fill of promotion for The Avengers movie?!

We have already seen a ton of images, trailers, toys and more.

Now, The Avengers are kicking off a $100 million marketing blitz beginning on April 1st.

Not only is the likes of Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Thor and Captain America assembling for action, but the previous Marvel Studios promotional partners, in addition to new recruits, are assembling as well.

These include Harley Davidson, Acura, Dr. Pepper, Visa, Wyndham hotels, Land O’Frost lunchmeats, Farmers Insurance, Hershey, Symantec, Oracle, bracelet-maker Colantotte and Red Baron Pizza.

Variety fills us in on more details, but what is rather interesting is that the promotion will not stop when our Assemblers are done taking out the diabolical Loki.

Bob Sabouni, executive Vice-President, worldwide marketing partnerships, Marvel Entertainment, says that the campaign will go on for seven months.

“We’re not all about week one,” Sabouni said. “We think our movie has legs, and our campaigns have legs beyond the first week.”

“It’s really a strong core of partners that have been partners for many of these pictures. We’re building a thematic universe (with these films), and (the returning brand partners) are very much part of that,” Sabouni stated. “There are certain core partners that we are going to always work with, but this movie’s appeal is so broad that we have a wider target of partners we can go to and create programs with.”

Variety also noted that some of the promotion has already started, but a big push is set for April 1st.

Excited?!
