We are less than a year from the debut of the new Marc Webb directed Amazing Spider-Man and already the release date for the sequel has been announced.
Sony has announced that the sequel for Amazing Spider-Man will be released on May 2nd, 2014.
“I think it speaks volumes about our confidence in what we are seeing on the new film and our desire to move quickly on the next installment,” an exec for Sony said according to Deadline.
The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3rd, 2012, in 3-D and is directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, Irrfan Khan as Nels Van Adder, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Sally Field as May Parker and C. Thomas Howell as Ray Cooper.
