Legendary creator Jim Starlin recently attended the London Film and Comic Con, and TalkComix was there to do just that — talk comics.

You can check out the full video interview below, but following are some of what was discussed.

Jim Starlin spoke on a plethora of subjects including Thanos in The Avengers movie, which he notes he received half the payment for compared to a Mongul video game payment a year prior.

Starlin also talks The Infinity Gauntlet and how the editors at Marvel were more than a little wary about the project. The X-Men editor at the time would only allow two of “his” characters to be used. Of course, once the series became a best seller, they all wanted to be a part of Infinity War six months later.

Speaking of editors, it seems back in the day at DC Comics they all hated each other and wouldn’t allow “their” characters to be used as well. When Starlin and Bernie Wrightson were finishing the story to The Weird, they had to use a character they never even heard of.

And regarding the last time Starlin worked at Marvel, he was on the Thanos book, which at the time was Marvel’s fifth best seller, but things went quickly sour from there.

The cosmic writer also talks about the death of Captain Marvel, some more of his DC Comics, and also about some new projects.

Speaking of, Jim Starlin announced that he will be publishing through 215 Ink, new illustrated novels including Mind Games — about a telepathic shrink. They will take place in the Hardcore Station world that was published at DC Comics, of which he owns.

It should be also noted that Starlin said in the beginning of the below video that he is blacklisted by Marvel; however, Jim recently posted on his Facebook that he spoke with a Marvel Exec who said that is not the case.

Great interview, check it out:
