Perhaps suggesting that Christopher Nolan’s involvement in the direction of the DC cinematic movie and TV universe is more involved than previously thought, Stephen Amell lets it be known that the director behind The Dark Knight Trilogy approved use of The Flash in Arrow.

Stephen Amell attended the recent Toronto Fan Expo where he spoke about Arrow season two.

Questions are brought up regarding the influence of DC with Amell going on about all the characters involved in the show.

One of the questions happened to mention the possibility of Arrow tieing into the DC movie universe much the same way Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. does with Marvel Studios.

Amell said he would definitely do a Justice League film, and when talking about The Flash said the following:

If we are able to introduce The Flash into our show and then spin The Flash off into his own show then…I think that it would make a ton of sense. Only if everybody would like to make a ton of money to take the properties that you have on television, and then to bring them on to the big screen. I will tell you this: I know when I found out about Barry Allen appearing on the show, what the executive producers told me, and for Barry Allen to appear on the show we had to get approval all the way up to Christopher Nolan. He’s the czar of all things Warner Bros. and DC. He likes the show and approved Barry Allen appearing, so I would say that’s a very good sign.

Speaking of Christopher Nolan as well as Batman, Arrow‘s main villain this season is a member of the League of Assassins.

Nolan is also executive producer behind the Batman/Superman movie slated for a July 2015 release.

Season two of Arrow returns Wednesday, October 9th at 8pm ET on the CW.
