Thor 2: Jaimie Alexander Set Accident Details: Chipped 11 Vertebrae

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4138:]]Back in late September saw the star of Thor 2, “The Dark World,” Jaimie Alexander, known for playing the Asgardian warrior, Sif, suffer an injury that would put her out of filming for an entire month.

The actress would require rehabilitation and training from the likes of an Australian bodybuilder to bring her back up to her immortal speed.

Jaimie Alexander did return to filming on Thor 2 shortly after hurricane Sandy hit, and now we learn the exact nature of the accident suffered on set.

Remember that “trick” your friends would play on you as a kid where they would take their knuckles and move them down your spine, “playing” it as if they were hitting all the keys on a piano?

Yeah, hurt like heck.

Well imagine that, but it’s not knuckles, it’s a metal staircase, it’s dark, wet and it’s 5am.

Jaimie Alexander filled in the NYPost:

“It was raining, it was dark outside, it was like 5 in the morning — and I went down a metal staircase and slipped and slipped a disc in my thoracic spine and chipped 11 of my vertebrae. I knocked my left shoulder out of place and tore my rhomboid on my right side . . . It took me out of filming for a month. I heal really fast. Everyone thinks it’s really funny to tease me about staircases now that I fell down one . . . I’m walking in heels again though, so that’s a good sign.”

Jamie Alexander also stars with  Arnold Schwarzenegger in the upcoming film, The Last Stand.

Thor 2: The Dark World hammers into theaters November 8th, 2013 directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones), starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin,  Idris Elba as Heimidall, Zachary Levi as Fandral and Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the Accursed, Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Kurse.
