Patty Jenkins Confirms Wonder Woman Villain

It’s not too much of a spoiler if you have been following all the news, but director Patty Jenkins has now confirmed the villain for Wonder Woman.

While at Wonder Con, Patty Jenkins confirmed that Ares is the main Wonder Woman villain.

“I think he’s the biggest villain of Wonder Woman’s world,” Jenkins said when asked why Ares is the perfect fit. “So I think you are going to start off big and start off right, with the greatest villain.”

Jenkins continued: “I think it was a great delight to place him in the world in a way where he believes in exactly what a real true Ares does, and what kind of havoc would Ares wreak on this planet and how. There’s some pretty good jobs to put them in for that.”

Wonder Woman LEGO sets have also revealed Ares is giant-sized, but it’s unknown if that interpretation makes its way into the film.

“Wonder Woman” has a June 2, 2017 release directed by Patty Jenkins starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Saïd Taghmaoui .

Synopsis:

Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
