Joaquin Phoenix Joker Fan Art

Joaquin Phoenix is currently up to play Joker in a standalone origin movie said to be set in the 1980s.

According to reports, Joaquin Phoenix has already agreed to play the role of the Joker, but the talks just need to go through.

Todd Phillips is directing the Joker movie and co-writing with Scott Silver, which will be a part of a yet-to-be-announced new banner of DC Comics movies that gives WB the opportunity to expand their comic-book characters with unique story angles that aren’t included in the DCEU (meaning Jared Leto will still play Joker).  

The Joker movie has been described as a gritty crime drama ’80s film that will delve into what it took for the Joker to become a mastermind criminal.
