Hugh Grant Shoots Down Doctor Who Rumors

The latest Doctor Who rumor offers that Hugh Grant could be the 14th Timelord, but that doesn’t look to be the case as the actor has shot down the rumor on social media.

The UK’s Daily Mirror has reported Hugh Grant is in talks to play the new Doctor Who, which followed an earlier rumor that David Tennant was going to return, but according to Hugh Grant, he won’t be playing the Timelord.

What is rather interesting is that Hugh Grant has already played Doctor Who, of sorts, as Grant played the Doctor in the BBC comic relief special for Red Nose Day in “The Curse of Fatal Death,” which was written by Steven Moffat, where some fans think the special mapped out plans for Doctor Who, including where the 13th Doctor becomes a female. Jodie Whittaker’s days are numbered as she will appear in two more specials that will air this year, which will see her regenerate into a new Doctor. Additional rumors have offered a female POC will be the new Doctor and/or a gay actor will play the Timelord. Showrunner Chris Chibnall is also out as Russell T Davies returns for the Doctor’s 60th anniversary.
