Star Wars: The Last Jedi Luke Skywalker Rumors Include Dark Side!

Has Luke Skywalker gone over to the Dark Side in Star Wars: The Last Jedi?

With Luke stating at the end of the recent trailer that “it’s time for the Jedi to end,” many fans online think so!

Now a new rumor for Star Wars: The Last Jedi may further the theory!

According to the Making Star Wars fan site, Luke Skywalker wears shards of Darth Vader’s lightsaber in a necklace around his neck in Star Wars: The Last Jedi!

That’s right, it’s being said Luke Skywalker is holding on to Darth Vader’s Kyber crystal!

According to the article, it’s already known that Luke Skywalker does wear a necklace in the movie with a red gem, but they state the necklace is the last Darth Vader Kyber crystal, and theorize that Kylo Ren may want it, and don’t understand why Luke just doesn’t simply destroy it!

As noted, Rey actually has Anakin’s blue lightsaber, with the red crystal making up the Darth Vader red lightsaber; so it’s possible we could even see both lightsabers battling each other at some point in Star Wars: The Last Jedi!

Regarding the potential of Luke being a part of the Dark Side, Mark Hamill did tease in an interview that it’s possible:

“There’s a difference between teaser and a trailer. A teaser is supposed to show you dynamic images that heighten your awareness and make you want to see the trailer, but avoid all story points if at all possible. [But] I think that’s the only story point that’s in the teaser, which is Luke saying it’s time for the Jedi to end… It was as shocking to me to read what Rian [Johnson] had written as I’m sure it will be for the audience.”

As for if Luke would ever turn to the dark side, he said, “It’s possible, anything’s possible.”

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” has a December 15, 2017 release directed by Rian Johnson starring Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac and Benicio Del Toro.
