Spider-Man: Far From Home has not one but two post-credit scenes as there is footage mid-credits as well as after the credits, both of which are actually pretty important and relevant to the future of the MCU.

Spider-Man: Far From Home mid-credit scene explained and spoilers
The Spider-Man: Far From Home mid-credit scene continues from the end of the movie where Spidey takes Michelle for a swing around NYC, and then they land with Spidey about to go off on his own, but then a video appears on screen in NYC from none other than the Daily Bugle. It’s J.K. Simmons back as J. Jonah Jameson who played the character in the Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire movies! J. Jonah Jameson has footage from the final battle between Spider-Man and Mysterio in London, but Mysterio released a doctored version, which shows – wait for it! – Spider-Man to be the bad guy! The end of the movie saw Peter turn off the drone strike, but Mysterio made it look as if Peter “executed” the drone strike. Mysterio also revealed that Spider-Man’s real name is Peter Parker — much to the horror of both Peter and Michelle!
Fans of the comics and the previous Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies will recognize how J. Jonah Jameson has always thought of Spider-Man as a villain, so we see the MCU tied things in nicely with the Spider-Man: Far From Home mid-credit scene as it introduced both J.K. Simmons back as J. Jonah Jameson and the notion of Spider-Man as a villain.
Regarding the big reveal of Spidey’s true identity being Peter Parker, that actually happened during the Civil War Marvel Comics comic book event; so since “Civil War” already happened in the MCU, which actually introduced Spider-Man, the movies go a slightly different approach, which I was pretty happy with.

Spider-Man: Far From Home post-credit scene explained and spoilers
The Spider-Man: Far From Home post-credit scene shows Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury driving with Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill next to him in the car. They are talking about how they were fooled by Mysterio etc. when they change — into Skrulls! I said, “Holy sh-t!” out loud. That means Fury and Maria Hill have been Skrulls in the movie all along!
But then things took a turn for the worse.
It’s the Skrull leader from Captain Marvel, Talos, and he is talking to the real Nick Fury who is on a beach, but then Fury really isn’t on a beach – that’s an illusion, too – as it is revealed Fury is on board a ship out in space apparently working with the Skrulls and possibly commanding them. Fury told Talos to pretend to be him and contact Peter.
Talos also told Fury that the Earth needs him back because everyone is asking about where the Avengers are, which perhaps is setting up Captain Marvel 2. It’s my take that Fury will return to Earth with Brie Larson as Captain Marvel to form a new Avengers team, which is something basically confirmed by Kevin Feige around the time of the release of Captain Marvel as well as promotion for the movie.
What I especially didn’t like about the Spider-Man: Far From Home post-credit scene is that it showed the Skrulls to still be good guys and working with Fury. Kevin Feige took heat for his portrayal of the Skrulls in Captain Marvel, as they came across as good guys, which is something the creator of Carol Danvers said he hated and that Stan Lee also would have hated. The Skrulls aren’t good guys and they don’t make friends with humans. Now we see for the past 35 years or whatever, that the Skrulls have been working with Fury all along or what have you and are good guys. Talos also came off as goofy in the car scene, so we see Marvel and Feige are continuing with their goofy interpretation of Marvel Cosmic.
The Spider-Man: Far From Home post-credit scene ended up being a huge disappointment for me and took a lot away from the rest of the film with the big reveal that Fury and Hill were Skrulls, and especially Talos, who I can’t stand. No, thanks!
That said, aside from the Spider-Man: Far From Home post-credit scene, the movie is pretty decent and worth a watch.
