While attending the Cannes Film Festival, Letitia Wright answers a question in regards to how Chadwick Boseman was honored on the set of the film, as the actor passed away from cancer on August 28, 2020.

“We honored him by committing ourselves to the story that he started, the legacy he started with this franchise, and we just committed every day to working hard,” she told Variety, and continued, “no matter what circumstances we faced – and we faced a lot of circumstances a lot of difficult situations – but we came together as a team, and we poured everything into this movie, so I am excited for you to see it.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has a Nov. 11, 2022 release date

Chadwick Boseman and Black Panther 2 rumors:

Regarding how the film is going to handle the death of Chadwick Boseman, it’s been said that Marvel will not recreate the actor and character digitally, with it rumored that the start of the movie kicks off with a funeral for T’Challa, so it is guessed that Black Panther might be killed off-screen, said to be by Namor’s minions (Okoye teased an underwater earthquake in Avengers: Endgame).

Additional rumors also offer that Letitia Wright’s Shuri might become the new Black Panther along with Winston Duke’s M’Baku who will become a second version of Black Panther, with rumors also offering that Namor will appear in the movie and go on to become Marvel’s premiere POC actor and character.

And regarding the circumstances they faced while filming, in addition to the death of Chadwick Boseman, there were filming problems as Letitia Wright was involved in an on-set accident described as “frightening” where she suffered a fractured shoulder and a concussion, with severe side effects, as well as Wright’s anti-vaccine comments and stance were in part blamed for the filming delays.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has a Nov. 11, 2022 release date directed by Ryan Googler and also stars Danai Gurira as Okoye, Daniel Kaluuya, as W’Kani, Dominique Thorne as Riri “Ironheart” Williams, with Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross..
