Russell Tovey Cast As The CW’s Ray For Crisis on Earth-X Crossover

Earlier, The CW announced their new 4-part crossover for Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow with Crisis on Earth-X.

Artwork was also released for the event featuring The Ray, who has is own animated series on The CW digital Seed network.

Now as assumed, it’s learned The Ray will indeed be making his live-action debut.

The CW announces that Russell Tovey will play the character of The Ray. Here is the description:

“Raymond ‘Ray’ Terrill was a reporter who discovered a group of government scientists working on a secret project to turn light into a weapon of mass destruction. But before he could report on his findings, the project head exposed Ray to a ‘genetic light bomb.’ The bomb failed to kill him and instead gifted Ray with light-based powers. With these abilities, Ray realized he could go beyond reporting on injustice — he could take action to help stop it. Calling himself The Ray, he was recruited by Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters to fight violence and oppression wherever it exists.”

Russell Tovey is known for the Quantico TV series and Being Human.

Crisis on Earth-X kicks off November 27th and sees the CW superheroes battling against evil versions of themselves.
