Insidious: The Last Key Rotten Tomatoes Score Is In

Insidious: The Last Key opens this weekend in theaters, and it’s currently getting crushed over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie has a current rotten rating of a meager 22%, which is the lowest of any of the Insidious movies.

Presently, 45 reviews are counted with 10 being Fresh to 35 Rotten.

Of the audience that has seen Insidious: The Last Key, 71% have liked it, so at least that is a pretty good sign. 

Update: The film now has a 25% rating (15 Fresh / 44 Rotten) with a 62% audience rating.

Here are the numbers for the previous three flicks:

  • Insidious: Chapter 2 – 39%
  • Insidious: Chapter 3 – 58%

The creative minds behind the hit Insidious trilogy return for Insidious: The Last Key. In the supernatural thriller, which welcomes back franchise standout Lin Shaye as Dr. Elise Rainier, the brilliant parapsychologist faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet: in her own family home.

The film is written by co-creator Leigh Whannell (Saw), who wrote the trilogy and directed Chapter 3; produced by Insidious regulars Jason Blum (The Purge series, Get Out), Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity) and co-creator James Wan (The Conjuring, Furious 7); and directed by series newcomer Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah Logan). Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Charles Layton, Bailey Conway Anglewicz, Couper Samuelson and Whannell serve as executive producers.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions is financing Insidious: Chapter 4, and domestic distribution will be handled by Universal Pictures. Sony will handle international distribution.

Insidious: The Last Key has a January 5, 2018 release.
