Ryan Reynolds Teases Marvel Studios Involvement

Ryan Reynolds apparently has taken a meeting at Marvel Studios as the actor takes to social media to tease some sort of involvement in the MCU.

“Auditioned for the role of ‘Anthony Stark.’ Didn’t come even remotely close, but the nice man with the taser escorted me to the ground,” the Deadpool actor joked on Instagram.

Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool now a part of Marvel

As a result of the Fox Studios and Disney merger, Deadpool and all the X-Men properties are now at Marvel, so we can guess that Ryan Reynolds may have been talking to Kevin Feige about the future of the Merc With A Mouth.

A while back did see Ryan Reynolds make mention that Deadpool would be rebooted in some way as in October of last year Reynolds said no more standalone Deadpool movies would be made, which was followed up in January by a comment that his team is already at work on Deadpool 3 and added in the third installment they were “looking to go in a completely different direction,” saying that “often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late.”

It’s also been rumored that a Deadpool 3 will actually be an X-Force movie.

Regarding the question about the R-rating, Disney CEO Bob Iger has mentioned there is room for an R-rated Fox brand at Disney, with Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige also stating that Iger said if it’s isn’t broke don’t fix it, so as of now, it appears as if Deadpool will be rated-3.

Team-up movies are also rumored, so possibly those could reside within the MCU and be PG-13 (i.e. Spider-Man / Deadpool).
