Disney’s Bob Iger is pretty confident in the Marvel brand.
The CEO recently told journalists that he isn’t too worried about competition from other comic book movies noting: “We’re Marvel.”
“We’re Marvel,” Iger stated at a media conference in Sun Valley, Idaho, reports Variety. “We’ve done a great job of building the Marvel brand, which we think when it’s on a movie really makes a difference. We’re seeing signs of that.”
Iger continued with mention that he’s confidet in Ant-Man and Doctor Strange because of Marvel as well.
“We like the Marvel slate that we have coming up,” Iger added. “We think they’re unique in many ways and have no concerns [about competition] whatsoever.”
The report also mentions Iger wouldn’t go into details about their upcoming Star Wars plans, which is speculated to include a “Star Wars Land,” but did confirm theme park exhibits are in the works.
“We’re going to increase the presence of Star Wars in our parks,” Iger said.
Iger also wouldn’t offer much about Star Wars: The Force Awakens other than confirming the film will have a precense at this week’s Comic-Con.
