What is Magic: The Gathering?
First released in 1993, Magic: The Gathering is recognized as the worldâs first trading card game, captivating over 50 million fans across the globe. Designed by mathematician Richard Garfield and published by Wizards of the Coast, the game set the foundation for the modern trading card industry and has grown worldwide over the past three decades.
In Magic: The Gathering, players assume the role of Planeswalkersâmighty spellcasters who summon creatures, cast spells, and wield powerful artifacts to outmaneuver their opponents. Each player builds a custom deck from thousands of unique cards, blending strategy, resource management, and a touch of luck to reduce their opponentâs life total from 20 to zero.
