Moana 2 Box Office Opens Big For Thanksgiving

Moana 2 opened last night with its Tuesday previews and opened big for the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

With kids off from school, Moana 2’s preview numbers are actually bigger than Inside Out 2, the highest-grossing movie of 2024, so far.

Moana 2 brought in $13.8 million in previews on Tuesday, which is higher than Inside Out 2‘s $13M that went to open to $154M an finished with a worldwide box office of nearly $1.7 billion.

Moana 2’s pre-sale tickets have also said to be through the roof with it already claimed the flick could hit a billion dollars.

Update: It’s looking like a $54M first day and at least $170M over the long holiday weekend which would blow by Frozen 2‘s $125M.

With 106 reviews from the critics, the Moana 2 Rotten Tomatoes Score is presently at 67% with a fan score of 89%. The first Moana released in 2016 has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 95% and the same fan score of 89%.
