‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Officially R-Rated

Deadpool & Wolverine has been given an official “R” rating by the Motion Picture Association (MPA).

We all knew the flick would be rated R, but at least the MPA offers why: Strong bloody violence and language throughout, gore, and sexual references.

When Disney purchased Fox, CEO Bob Iger confirmed they would be going with an R rating instead of PG-13 which the MCU movies are known for.

“It’s f-cking awesome”

Likewise, recently at CinemaCon, the head of Marvel, Kevin Feige, actually dropped f-bombs to promote Deadpool & Wolverine being rated R.

“It’s f-cking awesome,” Feige told the audience made up of movie theater industry professionals with mention that he got his start working on the Fox X-Men movies.

Feige continued, “…Almost a quarter of a century ago, working with Hugh Jackman again as Wolverine… It is incredible, it is extremely exciting and I hope you don’t mind me saying, it’s f-cking awesome. It’s f-cking awesome, and the reason I can say it’s f-cking awesome is because it’s an R-rated movie. It’s an R-rated movie.”

What is Deadpool & Wolverine about?

The latest synopsis teases:

Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date – Deadpool & Wolverine. A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him. When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to – F*ck. Synopses are so f*cking stupid.

The film gets released July 26 directed by Shawn Levy who is now in talks to direct Avengers 5.

Starring in the movie includes Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, with Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Rob Delaney, Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna returning from the previous Deadpool movies.

Newcomers include Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen.
