Superman Tyler Hoechlin Wishes David Corenswet The Best

With Tyler Hoechlin recently having finished up with Superman & Lois, David Corenswet is taking the reins as the new Man of Steel in James Gunn’s DCU.

Hoechlin debuted in The CW’s Supergirl and following Crisis starred in four seasons of Superman & Lois, which is probably the best Superman we’ve got since the original Christopher Reeve movie. The season finale of Superman & Lois was well done and a real tear jerker.

Over the weekend, Superman & Lois took home the Dan Curtis Legacy Award at the Saturn Awards, presented by George Newbern to Tyler Hoechlin and showrunners Brent Fletcher and Todd Helbing.

What did Tyler Hoechlin say about David Corenswet as Superman?

Screen Rant caught up with Hoechlin who shared his excitement for David Corenswet:

“I’m excited because, in a weird way, I’ve always [been] looking forward to the experience I was going to have with this character. It originally was going to be two episodes that somehow turned into four, and then seven, and then eight years. I’ve always been excited about whenever that day comes to pass the baton, and so I’m so looking forward to see what they’re going to do with it. I think they’re great. I’m [a] huge, huge Guardians [of the Galaxy] fan, so I can’t wait to see what James has done with it. David [Corenswet] sent me a really nice note before they started shooting. He’s a very, very classy guy, so I wish him and Rachel and Nick and everybody there the best. And for the fans too! I just hope it’s the best movie of the year.”

Elizabeth Tulloch wishes best of luck

Following the series finale, Elizabeth Tulloch also wished the best of luck to new Gunn’s Lois Lane, Rachel Brosnahan:

I wish the best of luck to @jamesgunn and the rest of his cast and crew, and especially to @rachelbrosnahan – I’m sure you will be a wonderful Lois and I can’t wait to see what you do with the role. Have so much fun – I know I did.

Both Elizabeth Tulloch and Tyler Hoechlin will be at this weekend’s Orlando MegaCon as part of a Superman & Lois panel, and fans can also take part in meet and greets and photo-ops.
