Nobody 2: First Look At Bob Odenkirk

We get our first look at Bob Odenkirk who returns for Nobody 2 along with new details about the sequel including its a “bigger and brighter” film.

In the first film (great flick), Bob Odenkirk plays Hutch Mansell, a suburban dad and husband whose life takes a sharp turn after two thieves break into his home. Hutch chooses not to fight back, hoping to avoid escalating the situation. However, his decision leaves his teenage son disappointed and creates more distance between him and his wife, Becca.

Unbeknownst to his family, Hutch has a hidden past as a government assassin. The break-in ignites a fire within him, reawakening his lethal instincts and buried rage. What follows is a relentless journey of violence and revelation, as Hutch unleashes his deadly skills to protect his family from a powerful enemy. In a storm of fists, gunfire, and screeching tires, he proves once and for all that he’s far from just a “nobody.”

What is Nobody 2 about?

Thanks to Empire Magazine, we get the details about Nobody 2 which includes it takes a different approach than the first movie.

“We do away with the whole drab, gloomy factory/warehouse feel of the first film and make it much more summery and colourful,” revealed director Timo Tjahjanto who comes onboard the sequel.

That’s not all that is different as Hutch Mansell’s family now knows he’s not just a nobody.

“Now that he’s back at it in full throttle, how does his family react to this beast?” teased Tjahjanto. “How do they react to this other side of me who’s constantly hustling and working for the family?’ It’s gonna be quite a journey.”

The villain of Nobody 2 is also revealed to be none other than Sharon Stone, who sounds like more than a match for Odenkirk.

“Her performance reminds me a lot of Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast,” said Tjahjanto. “She is definitely an alpha female. She doesn’t take shit from anybody. This is a villain that is unique, and she’s making this character completely batshit crazy.”

Nobody 2 gets released on August 15, 2025.

Derek Kolstad, known for writing the John Wick films starring Keanu Reeves, returns to pen the script alongside Aaron Rabin (Jack Ryan), Bob Odenkirk, and Umair Aleem (Kate).

David Leitch, director of Bullet Train and Deadpool 2 and producer of John Wick , is back as a producer, joined by Kelly McCormick. Odenkirk also returns as a producer alongside Marc Provissiero and Braden Aftergood.

Released on March 26, 2021, the first Nobody earned $57.5 million on a modest $16 million budget, achieving a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. If you’re a fan of lone-assassin films like John Wick, The Accountant, or The Beekeeper, Nobody is a must-watch.
