Less than two months from release, the runtime and rating for James Gunn’s Superman has become known, though don’t consider it official until the DCU co-head confirms himself.
What is the Superman runtime?
International distributors are stating the Superman runtime is 122 minutes, or 2 hours and 2 minutes in length.
For a comparison, the Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel runtime is 2h 23m.
The first Christopher Reeve Superman movie comes in with a runtime of 2h 7m, which syncs with Gunn’s version being similar to the Donner film.
Superman Returns, released in 2006, comes in at 2h 34m.
Again, James Gunn hasn’t confirmed the Superman runtime, so consider this unofficial.
Update: Gunn has confirmed the runtime is not official: “That is not correct. It’s almost totally locked – meaning we’re just finishing a couple VFX shots over the weekend – but that’s not the running time,” responded Gunn on Threads.
What is the Superman rating?
The Superman rating actually comes from a toy commercial where Superman is shown to be rated PG-13.

The MPAA has yet to announce the official rating and the reason why, but it’s safe to say the Superman PG-13 rating is a lock, similar to other comic book movies likely for intense sequences of violence and action and things of that nature.

James Gunn’s Superman gets released on July 11th.
David Corenswet stars as Superman/Clark Kent, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
