Facebook Down: Users Report Login Issues, Session Errors, and ‘Advanced Protection’ Prompts

Update: As of our last check at 7am EST, Facebook is now up and running.

Facebook is experiencing a widespread outage this morning, with users reporting they can’t log in and are seeing unusual error messages.

Reports mention “session expired” errors, passwords not working, and prompts to “Turn on Advanced Protection to unlock your account.”

The errors seem to be only applying to Meta’s Facebook, as both Instagram and Threads are currently up.
