I’m at Comic-Con and discussions led to the new DCU and James Gunn’s Superman movie.
Gunn unleashed the Creature Commandos trailer and also revealed the new DC Studios film logo.

Via DC insiders at Comic-Con
DC insiders filled me in the Superman trailer is being worked out and will get released “soon.” How soon, I don’t know. Whether it’s weeks, months or longer, and when and were it will be released, I also don’t know.
We discussed the set images and video out of Cleveland and that first-look image of David Corenswet. Some fans I talked to loved the first image and some fans are on the fence.
The DC insiders I chatted with actually aren’t worried about the look of the Superman suit and the costumes in the movie.
We talked how Gunn needs to deliver on the story more than anything. Regarding the story, I’m told the script is really good and that it’s solid. I’m also told the first footage does look really good. No worries.
Chatted about Zack Snyder
We also chatted about Zack Snyder. I’m told James Gunn has Zack Snyder’s crew working on the movie. Regardless what you think of Snyder’s DCEU, you have to admit the visuals are really good. Snyder’s crew also worked on the first Wonder Woman (Snyder was on set directing, too). So hopefully that quality carries over to Gunn’s Superman movie.
I’m also told there is zero animosity between Zack Snyder and James Gunn and that they are friends. Snyder has said he wants to do an adaptation of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. I’m told that’s a definite possibility down the road.
I was also told a DC vs Marvel crossover is possible which could come about via James Gunn and the Russo Brothers in coordination with Kevin Feige. I’m told the news the Russos are in early talks to direct Avengers 5 and 6 is already a done deal.
James Gunn’s Superman gets released July 11, 2025.
