Injustice 3 Rumor Heats Up As WB Games Artist Lists DC Sequel

Injustice 3 Reportedly In Development At NetherRealm Studios

Injustice 3 is reportedly back in the conversation, with a new claim saying the long-awaited DC fighting game is in development at NetherRealm Studios.

The latest info comes from MP1st, which reports that the resume of a current Warner Bros. Games artist lists several AAA projects, including Hogwarts Legacy 2, two unannounced projects, and most notably Injustice 3.

The site says the artist’s identity is being withheld for confidentiality reasons.

The outlet also included a screenshot of the listing, which shows “Warner Bros. Games” under the artist’s experience section, along with project tags for “Hogwarts Legacy 2 (TBD),” “Injustice 3 (TBD),” and “2 Unannounced Projects.”

Injustice 3 Appears On Warner Bros. Games Artist Resume

According to MP1st, the information comes from the resume of an artist currently working at Warner Bros. Games.

The resume allegedly lists the artist’s experience on multiple AAA projects. The standout is Injustice 3, which is specifically named rather than hidden under the “unannounced” label.

That doesn’t mean Warner Bros. Games or NetherRealm Studios has officially announced the game. It also doesn’t give a release window, platforms, story details, roster, or whether the game is far along in development.

Still, it is another notable sign that Warner Bros. may finally be moving forward with the next entry in the DC fighting game franchise.

Injustice 3 Claimed To Be In The Works Says Superman Voice Actor

Follows Last Summer’s Superman Voice Actor Claim

The new report follows last summer’s Injustice 3 claim involving Superman voice actor George Newbern.

Back in August, a fan claimed he met Newbern and told him how much he loved his work as Superman, including in MultiVersus. According to the fan, Newbern responded by saying he was “currently working on Injustice 3.”

At the time, the claim quickly made the rounds because Newbern is a major voice tied to the Injustice series. He voiced Superman in Injustice 2, where the Man of Steel played a central role in NetherRealm’s darker DC universe.

The report was never confirmed by Warner Bros. or NetherRealm Studios, but the new resume listing now gives fans another reason to think something is happening behind the scenes.

WB Games Teases Return To Biggest Franchises: Batman, Harry Potter, More

Warner Bros. Has Been Quiet On DC Games

Warner Bros. has not officially announced Injustice 3.

NetherRealm Studios last released Mortal Kombat 1 in 2023. Since then, fans have continued to speculate about the studio’s next major project, with Injustice 3 remaining one of the biggest requests.

The Injustice franchise has been dormant since Injustice 2 launched in 2017. The series became popular by combining NetherRealm’s fighting game formula with a dark DC story built around Superman becoming a tyrant after the death of Lois Lane.

That setup helped separate Injustice from the usual DC games and gave NetherRealm room to use Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Joker, Harley Quinn, and more in a much more brutal setting.

WB Games Previously Teased A Return To Its Biggest Franchises

The new Injustice 3 report also lines up with what Warner Bros. Discovery said earlier this year about the future of WB Games.

Back in February, WBD global streaming and gaming chief JB Perrette said 2025 was a “reset” year for the gaming division after the company got pulled in too many directions and chased too many IPs across too many studios. The plan was to pull back, refocus, and return to the brands that matter most.

Perrette said the “real fruits” of that reset would start showing up in 2027 and 2028, when WB Games returns to some of its biggest franchises.

He didn’t name specific titles, but Harry Potter is an obvious guess, with Hogwarts Legacy 2 already expected to be part of that strategy.

At the time, the big DC question was whether WB Games would finally get back to Batman, Superman, or another major DC property.

Now, with Injustice 3 reportedly appearing on a Warner Bros. Games artist resume, it looks like NetherRealm’s DC fighting franchise may also be part of that larger return to WB’s biggest gaming brands.

It’s also possible Warner Bros. is holding off on major announcements until the pending Warner Bros. Discovery sale to Paramount-Skydance is sorted out, which lines up with Perrette’s 2027-2028 timeline.
