Mortal Kombat II Trailer Teases 'Wait Is Almost Over'

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have dropped a brand-new trailer and official poster for Mortal Kombat II, giving fans their biggest look yet at the upcoming sequel ahead of its May 8, 2026 release.

Johnny Cage Takes Center Stage

The trailer makes one thing clear: this chapter heavily centers on Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban. The Hollywood action star finds himself drafted into the deadly Mortal Kombat tournament, forced to level up fast as Earthrealm faces its biggest threat yet.

Urban’s Cage starts off as a washed-up celebrity but is thrown into a war that will transform him into a true champion.

Shao Kahn Rises

The sequel raises the stakes with the looming presence of Shao Kahn, who threatens the very existence of Earthrealm. The new footage showcases brutal tournament fights, larger set pieces, and more of the franchise’s iconic characters clashing across multiple realms.

Scorpion returns. Bi-Han is back as Noob Saibot. Kitana and Jade enter the battlefield. And the fatalities appear bigger than ever.
