Insomniac Games has made it official. Marvel’s Wolverine now has a firm release date.
“Let’s cut to the chase: Marvel’s Wolverine launches September 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5,” the studio posted on X. Watch below.
Liam McIntyre, who is voicing Wolverine, posted on X in reaction to the news, “I’ve been working on this for almost as long as my son has been alive. I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time… not long now!!!”
Marvel’s Wolverine Release Date Confirmed
After previously confirming a Fall 2026 window, Insomniac took to social media and locked in the exact date. Logan claws his way onto PS5 on September 15, 2026.
The studio is urging fans to wishlist the game now as anticipation builds following the brutal State of Play reveal.
The official PlayStation Store page also confirms the Fall 2026 launch window, now narrowed down to the mid-September release.
What to Expect From Insomniac’s Wolverine
According to the official game description, Wolverine is on the hunt for answers about his dark past.
He’ll do whatever it takes, unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination to uncover the truth about the man he used to be.
From Insomniac Games — the studio behind the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise — this is an original take on Logan built specifically for PlayStation 5.
The project is being developed in collaboration with Marvel Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment.
A Mature, Brutal Take on Logan
The first trailer (watch below) showcased bloody combat, dismemberment, and intense, close-quarters action.
Characters such as Mystique, Omega Red, and a towering Sentinel were revealed, along with global locations including Madripoor, Tokyo, and the Canadian wilderness.
Insomniac promises fast, fluid, ferocious combat and cinematic set pieces that fully embrace Wolverine’s berserker rage. This is not a toned-down superhero game — it’s M-rated and unapologetically violent.
