The John Wick video game is officially in development with Keanu Reeves back in the role.
During Sony’s State of Play showcase, Lionsgate and Saber Interactive announced a new AAA single-player third-person action game based on the billion-dollar John Wick franchise.
The untitled project is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and is tailored for mature audiences.
“Today is a big day for the John Wick franchise. In collaboration with Saber and Lionsgate, I’m thrilled to share our first look at the John Wick video game currently in development. Follow along the journey because we have a lot more to show,” says Chad Stahelski in the trailer.

Keanu Reeves Returns as John Wick
This isn’t a simple licensed adaptation. Keanu Reeves is involved in the production and will reprise John Wick’s likeness, voice, and overall presence in the game.
Franchise director Chad Stahelski is also collaborating, helping shape the action and tone to stay faithful to the films.
Jenefer Brown, President of Global Products & Experiences at Lionsgate, said the team is working closely with Saber to capture the franchise’s fight choreography, immersive world-building, and authenticity.
“I can’t wait for fans to step into the shoes of John Wick and explore the multi-dimensional world of The High Table,” stated Brown. “We are collaborating closely with Saber’s dedicated team to develop a game that captures the unparalleled action, brand-defining fight choreography, immersive world-building, and authenticity of the films.”
Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch added that the studio is honored to partner with Reeves, Stahelski, and Lionsgate to bring the world of Wick to life in a true AAA experience.
“John Wick is one of the most iconic characters in action film history. Saber is honored to be working alongside Chad, Keanu and the Lionsgate team in a true collaboration to bring the world of Wick to life in a AAA game,” said Karch.
Set Before the Impossible Task
The game features an original narrative set years before the Impossible Task that allowed Wick to leave the High Table.
The story expands the timeline and explores more of the criminal underworld, introducing new characters created specifically for the game while also bringing in familiar faces from the films.
According to the official description, the goal is to make players feel like they are inside a John Wick movie, stepping directly into the role of the Baba Yaga.
Gun-Fu Combat and Cinematic Action
Saber says the game will deliver the signature elements fans expect from a John Wick mission. That includes a hard-hitting gun-fu combat system, cinematic camerawork, intense driving experiences, and immersive environments designed to reflect the bold style of the films.
Saber Interactive is coming off the success of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 and has built a reputation for handling major IP with large-scale action and spectacle. The studio promises this will be the ultimate John Wick gaming experience.
The John Wick Universe Keeps Growing
The John Wick franchise has generated more than $1 billion worldwide across four films. The universe has expanded with the Peacock series The Continental and the spinoff film Ballerina starring Ana de Armas. A new film centered on Caine, played by Donnie Yen, is also in development, along with another movie following the events of John Wick: Chapter 4.
Now the AAA video game marks the next major step for the franchise.
The “Untitled John Wick Game” is currently available to wishlist on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
